ABOUT WALLS AND ROOFS
The founder of Walls and Roofs, Tom Karlow, was a California
licensed contractor for twenty-one years. After "stick
building" many projects in the North San Francisco Bay
Area, he built his first panelized Farwest Home in 1996. The
speed and ease of construction was impressive, but the thing
that has kept him selling and building with Farwest packages
was the high quality of the materials and construction. Beautiful
kiln-dry Douglas Fir framing and fine cabinet-like assembly,
made the old "stick-framing" seem like a waste of
precious time. In addition, the staff at Farwest, from the
design department to the men in layout and shipping, want
to do everything they can to make sure the customer is happy.
We now supply Farwest Homes to owner-builders, who love the
fact that professionals are doing 'the hard part' for them,
and to contractors who quickly see the value in having a lot
of the labor done offsite, enabling them to save on their
expensive on-site labor, and quickly move to close-in. Because
they can get the job done faster, they can take on more jobs.
And because the quality is higher, their clients are impressed
and happily recommend them to their friends.
Farwest has the ability to take a plan they have never seen
before, build it in panels and components, and ship it to
your site in a very reasonable time. All of the materials
for that plan, as specified in a "quotation and package
contents" are guaranteed to be on the trucks. The truck
shipments are then spaced on your schedule so as not to have
too much material on your site. Trucks are unloaded and the
panels are erected with a simple four wheel drive machine
available at most rental yards.
